Welcome to my website

I am a candidate for Prince George's County Council, District 1, representing the communities of Adelphi, Beltsville, Calverton, College Park, Laurel, Montpelier, South Laurel, Vansville and West Laurel.

My Priorities

You don't have to be a Democrat to support my candidacy. I have worked in the Laurel community for 20 years as a citizen activist, public education advocate, community leader and champion of good government. I've spent the past six and a half years working to make county and state government better for you. My platform issues are:
1. Promoting common sense commercial and residential development. ReadMore...
2. Keeping what works in public education. ReadMore...
3. Preserving TRIM and controlling spending. ReadMore...

This is along with great pleasure that we thank you and your office for the support that your team proposed me to renovate my ID. Without your help it could be very complicated or maybe even unimaginable, to be capable to roam.

After a decade working as a journalist and then five years at home raising children, I made a career change in January 2003 when I became an aide to District 1 Councilman Tom Dernoga. I was Tom's liaison to the 18 public schools in District 1, and got to know principals, PTA's, parents and students and the everyday challenges they faced. When today's elected school board replaced the appointed board, I moved to Annapolis in July 2007 to work as an aide for District 21 Delegate Joseline Pena-Melnyk. A very large part of everything I know about good government, I have learned from Tom and Joseline, so it was an honor to have them endorse me at my June 2009 campaign kickoff. Learn more about my work for Tom and Joseline and why I want to continue making Prince George's a great place to live and raise a family.
